2024 Boeing Sustainability & Social Impact Report

The Boeing 2024 Sustainability & Social Impact Report outlines progress we’ve made on environment, inclusion and community efforts, with safety and quality core to all we do. The People & Inclusion section includes employee demographic data, how we support our team’s well-being and professional development, and the progress we’ve made toward cultivating an open and respectful environment.

Aspirations and Progress

To advance equity and diversity and build a culture of inclusion, we have established a set of aspirations we will strive to achieve by 2025:

Increase the Black representation rate in the U.S. by 20%.

Achieve parity in retention rates of all groups.

Close representation gaps for historically underrepresented groups.

Eliminate significant differences between the experiences of teammates from different backgrounds.

Advance common understanding, shared experiences and mutual respect.

Report diversity metrics and progress annually.

Join Us

At Boeing, our purpose is driven by our people. Boeing offers employees a wide range of competitive benefits that reflect our shared values, including market-leading health and retirement plans, generous tuition assistance, paid time off, and programs that support employees, their families and communities. Join us and together, we'll do work that changes the world.

Seek, Speak & Listen

Teammates across the company use Seek, Speak & Listen habits by inviting different perspectives, sharing ideas and concerns, and acting on what they hear. By embracing these simple habits, we make better decisions, drive innovation and build connection. We also create a work environment where employees feel safe speaking up and trust that they will be heard.

Business Resource Groups

Our nine employee Business Resource Groups (BRGs) help us fulfill Boeing's commitment to advance inclusion, develop talent and strengthen business insights. BRGs are volunteer, employee-driven groups that are open to all and provide space for Boeing teammates to build inclusive communities through four pillars: Business Alignment, Professional Development, Talent Engagement and Community Involvement.

Business Resource Groups are powerful engines of personal, professional and organizational change – in part because they benefit from direct and meaningful engagement from Boeing’s most senior leaders. BRG members also grow their community and their skills so they can drive greater innovation and better business results.

All nine BRGs are keenly focused on including the perspectives of our non-US workforce in their strategies and play an important role in helping to advance diverse representation at every level of the company through a truly global network of BRG chapters.

Recognizing Pride

During Pride Month, Boeing recognizes LGBTQIA+ teammates for their contributions to the aerospace industry, and their commitment to making more inclusive workplaces and communities.

The Boeing Employees Pride Alliance (BEPA) is our longest-running employee-led Business Resource Group as well as one of our largest. BEPA’s 23 chapters connect thousands of LGBTQIA+ teammates and allies across the globe to provide personal and professional development and networking opportunities for their members. The Boeing Employees Transgender Alliance (BETA), a subset of BEPA, provides support for the transgender community. Boeing Employees with Transgender Family Members (BETFaM), another subset of BEPA, creates a safe space for Boeing employees to discuss unique challenges facing their transgender or non-binary child, spouse or partner and provides education and resources.

Recognizing the contributions of Native American and Indigenous communities and peoples

Together, we can create a more respectful and inclusive world

During Native American Heritage Month, we honor and celebrate the rich culture, traditions and history of our Native American and Indigenous teammates. The Native American and Indigenous Communities and Nations represented at Boeing help us strengthen inclusion and innovation every day.

Our employee-led Boeing Employees Indigenous Network (BE-IN) Business Resource Group builds awareness for the richness and diversity of Native American and Indigenous cultures across our team. With an emphasis on career development and leadership, BE-IN encourages STEM careers for Native American and Indigenous youth and provides training opportunities for its members. Across the community, BE-IN members actively support the Boys & Girls Club – Native Services. Through mentoring, coaching and leadership training, the partnership helps to ensure diversity in our talent pool while improving representation in the STEM pipeline. The group also connects hundreds of employees across the company who are passionate about Native American and Indigenous culture. BE-IN members are actively educating the general public about traditions and cultures and raising awareness of the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present.

Boeing, in partnership with BE-IN, continues to have a long standing and supportive relationship with the American Indian Science & Engineering Society or AISES. Through our partnership with AISES, Boeing was able to extend 30 offers and fill a number of direct and internship positions at last year’s AISES conference in Palm Springs, Calif. This year, our partnership with AISES has strengthened and BE-IN members will continue to support Boeing’s presence at the annual conference.
